As fires continue to blaze across the nation, we’ve doubled our commitment to helping support and rebuild communities across Australia. Since our initial pledge last Tuesday, every individual pharmacy within the 100-strong Blooms The Chemist store network have pledged a further contribution, bringing the total amount to be donated by Blooms The Chemist to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery fund to $100,000.

4,000 P2 face masks have now arrived across the eight Blooms The Chemist pharmacies located in fire-affected communities. These are available to the public free of charge; please see below for a list of participating stores.

If you have been affected by the fires and need assistance with sourcing medication or pharmacy items, we’re here for you. We have established an emergency support line that you can call, and we will do our best to assist you. Please call: 0414 039 474.

To all who have been affected by these devastating fires, we stand with you.

Australian Bushfires Crisis Support

These last few weeks should have been a time for family and celebration. Instead, many communities have been devastated by fires and the Australian community is hurting.

Blooms The Chemist is proud to be a community-minded pharmacy network, and it’s important that we support those who support us.

We are pledging $50,000 to The Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, helping to provide support directly to those in need.

We have acquired 9,000 much-needed P2 face masks. 4,000 masks will be available for the public to access free of charge (from 9 January, limit of one per person) in our pharmacies that are located near fire-affected areas;

o Grafton - Shop 24, Grafton Shopping World, 54-74 Fitzroy St, Grafton NSW 2460
o Lithgow - Shop 42, Lithgow Valley Plaza, Cnr of Bent St & Lithgow St. Lithgow NSW 2790
o Nowra Junction - 2/130 Junction St, Nowra NSW 2541

The other 5,000 masks will be donated to the appropriate authorities, ensuring these masks go to those who need them most in areas where we do not have a physical pharmacy.

If you have been affected by the fires and need assistance with sourcing medication or pharmacy items, we’re here for you. We have established an emergency support line that you can call, and we will do our best to assist you. Please call: 0414 039 474.

We’re thankful for the courageous firefighters who are working so hard battling these fires and we appreciate each of our customers who enable us to support Australian communities.

We also wish to acknowledge our store teams in fire-affected communities for their dedication and commitment, be it through donating items, opening after hours to provide medication or medical equipment, or acting as a drop-off point for urgently needed supplies.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fires.

For those wishing to help the organisations on the ground providing frontline support, your contribution is needed and most welcome.
