Are Your Legs Trying To Tell You Something?

We’ve all heard of the phrase “Listen to your body”, but have you ever tried listening to your legs?

They could be trying to tell you something! Read the list below and check if you have experienced any of them in your legs and feet:

  • Pins and needles
  • Numbness
  • Aches and pains
  • Muscle cramps or cramps at night
  • Varicose veins
  • Sores that do not heal well

These are common symptoms of poor circulation and could be indications of a more serious underlying medical condition.

What is poor circulation?

Poor circulation is a condition where our arteries begin to narrow. This is caused by a build-up of waste in the blood vessels in the legs, restricting fresh blood flow to the leg muscles. Common risk factors of poor circulation include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity (a Body Index of over 30) and increasing age (especially after 50 years old). Certain medical conditions like diabetes can also cause damage to blood vessels, due to the high levels of glucose in the blood, which damages the artery walls – restricting blood flow to the legs and feet.

Why is good circulation important?

Nutrients and oxygen are brought to your organs through good blood circulation. When you have poor circulation, it simply means oxygen-rich blood is not getting to where it needs to and therefore starving the body’s organs. Maintaining good leg circulation is particularly important and difficult at the same time because it is the furthest part away from the heart, yet it has to work against gravity to get the blood back up to your heart.

Get your blood flowing – drug-free

A good way to get your blood circulating is exercise. Walking, for example, helps contract and relax your leg muscles, working it like a second heart to pump blood back up through your body. Another way to get your leg muscles pumping is to use the Circulation Booster. REVITIVE Circulation Booster is a drug-free medical device which uses patented Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to get your leg muscles pumping. When the leg muscles pump, fresh blood flow increases through other arteries – like creating “side streets” when the highways are blocked with traffic, helping to increase fresh blood flow.

The benefits of improved blood circulation may include relief from tired, aching legs and feet, and relief from pain or cramping. It could also help to reduce swelling due to fluid pooling in the lower legs and feet. Improving circulation is important for all of us, especially for people with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or osteoarthritis, to do more everyday and get the most out of life.

Do not use REVITIVE Circulation Booster if: fitted with an electronic implanted device such as a heart pacemaker or Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD); you are pregnant; being treated for, or have symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): such as pain, swelling and tenderness, heavy ache, warm or red skin in the leg. Consult your doctor before use. Always read the label.
