How long does Coloxyl take to work? 
This depends on the type of Coloxyl product you take, as different products have different active ingredients. 

For example, Coloxyl with Senna provides effective relief that starts to work in six to 12 hours. This product is a dual action formula that aims for the effective overnight relief of constipation.  


Coloxyl 50mg and 120mg tablets can provide relief from constipation over one to three days.

 
Coloxyl Infant drops also provide gentle constipation relief over two to three days. 


When should you not take Coloxyl? 
It’s recommended that you shouldn’t take Coloxyl with other medicines or liquid paraffin unless you’ve been advised by your doctor.  
If you have any concerns about how you should take it, please seek advice from your health care provider. 


What are the side effects of taking Coloxyl? 
Many people that use this medication do not have any serious side effects.  
However, you should tell your health care provider immediately if you have any serious side effects, including nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, dizziness or more.  


How long can I keep using Coloxyl? 
It’s not recommended that you use Coloxyl long-term as it can lead to dependence or further bowel problems.
