General Product Description

Cough Lung Tonic Capsules contain balloonflower, which is traditionally used to ease the coughs of common colds in Chinese medicine.

Also includes elecampane and white horehound, which are traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to relieve mild bronchial coughs. Elecampane is also traditionally used as a lung tonic and an expectorant to reduce bronchial mucous congestion in Western herbal medicine. White horehound is traditionally considered especially beneficial for spasmodic, dry or unproductive coughs in Western herbal medicine

How it works:
Elecampane and white horehound: traditionally used to relieve mild bronchial coughs in Western herbal medicine. Expectorants are medicines that help to expel respiratory mucus from the body. Elecampane and white horehound are popular expectorant herbs in Western herbal medicine, where they’re traditionally used to relieve mild bronchial coughs.

Elecampane is also traditionally used as a lung tonic and is regarded as having decongestant properties to clear bronchial mucous congestion in Western herbal medicine.

White horehound is traditionally known for its benefits for spasmodic, dry or unproductive coughs in Western herbal medicine.

Balloonflower: used in traditional Chinese medicine for relief of coughs
Balloonflower is a herb that’s often used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to ease symptoms of the common cold, including cough.

Chinese licorice: traditionally used to ease coughs with excess phlegm
In Chinese medicine, Chinese licorice is often used alongside balloonflower in a traditional formulation known as ‘Jie Geng Tang’; both herbs are traditionally taken to support lung health, with balloonflower dispersing lung Qi (energy) to achieve this. Chinese licorice is also traditionally used to relieve a dry, unproductive cough and to soothe mild bronchial irritation.
